MER Clinic: How to have a successful Op Session

Presented by Tom Sullivan @ MER Suffolk 2012

Tom will review the most popular type of Op sessions modelers like to attend, covering everything from "casual running" to "Timetable and Train Order" and everything in between. He will review the various car movement methods from car cards to switch lists. There are some basic "necessities" that successful operating layouts have and it s important to know what they are and how to incorporate them into your layout. We will discuss how to get new modelers acquainted with your layout s operation and how to satisfy the "old heads" who are well versed in The Rights of Trains and experienced in TT/TO. The clinic will end with an open forum where the attendees can ask questions and hear how modelers who host successful op sessions do what they do to ensure visiting operators have fun and want to return again and again.
